Collection Cream Puff Lip Cream Review
It's been a little while since I have done a product review and I've come to accumulate some pretty cool products that I'd like to share with you! I came across this matte lip cream while watching one of Alix's Videos from I Covet Thee. Thankfully she is one of these YouTubers that list out the products they're wearing in the description. I absolutely hate playing Sherlock in the comments section!
So the goody I have for you today (which you probably guessed from the title) is the Collection Cream Puff Mointurising Lip Cream in Fairy Cake. It was actually my boyfriend who told me that it was a must to write about this lip cream. Keep reading to find out why!
This is a "velvety soft, matte finish lip cream" that cost me £2.99 in Boots. I really liked the colour of this when I seen it on Alix's lips. The matte finish wasn't really a selling point however, but thats purely because matte lip colours are hit and miss with my dry flaky lips. It also has a slight fairy cake smell to it too which in all fairness is pretty amazing!
The tube itself is really dinky and cute but the colour is this fantastic warm-toned pink with a sight coral-ness to it so it makes for a pretty perfect pink nude colour similar to Julianne's Nude Lipstick from L'Oreal.
It has a lovely smooth consistancy and with the doe foot applicator it's a breeze to apply and work with. In terms of staying power, once it drys into a matte cream on your lips there is very litte transfer onto cups etc. It feels a little weird on your lips like all matte products do but I must admit this was the most comfortable matte drugstore cream I've tried, especially compared to MUA Velvet Luxe dupe for Lime Crime.
As for wearability, you get about an hour, hour and a half before it starts to wear away. Now the problem here is then as it begins to wear away you just want to top it up. Well sorry guys, you have to take it all off and start again! When you apply more of the wet cream over the dry matte it all kind of cakes and lumps and flakes and looks darn aweful! That's why my bofriend wanted me to write about it becuase it shocked him that it looked so bad! But so you can see what it looks like when it's been cleanly applied, here is a picture with it on.
How beautiful does that colour look though? I have mixed feelings for this product. The colour, consistancy and comfortability are huge high points for the lip cream but the way it wears off and re-appies makes it a lot of hassle! Have you tried this lip cream or any other drugstore matte lip products? I'd love to try a few more!
Have a good weekend guys!
