Doll White teeth whitening review
Who wouldn't want a Celebrity Smile? But a Celebrity Smile comes with a Celebrity price tag, right? Well not anymore! Doll White promise to help you achieve the perfect set of pearly white teeth with their affordable non-peroxide whitening strips.
Doll White sent me out their 14-day whitening pack to try out. It's pretty simple to use; press the gel strips to your teeth and leave on for 30 minutes every day for 14 days. I'll admit, they took a few goes to get the hang of but I got there in the end!
In the photo below is my teeth before I started. I washed my teeth as normal and applied the sticky strips. I found it a little tricky and it kept getting caught on my lip. I dribbled a lot too. Also it created that effect... You know when you paint your nails and you suddenly need to pee? Well when I put on the strips I was suddenly really thirsty. Longest. Thirty. Minutes. Ever.
How awkward is that grin? OMG. You'll see plenty more like to come! Anyway, like I said, it took me a few days to get the hang of it. By day 3 I figured it was easier to pat them dry really well with some tissue. The instructions did say apply them to clean, dry teeth but it helped to really swab them. Like really swab them.
I had noticed a difference by day 5. I don't have terribly stained teeth but I did notice my eye teeth had lightened a few shades. So far the strips were working well and they just became part of my morning routine. I did have a little discomfort on the skin on the inside of my lips but a little dab of Vaseline and I was fine.
I get that although these are slower, they are better for you because they're free from peroxide however wearing these for a total of 7 hours in 2 weeks really takes it's toll. The gel doesn't taste that unpleasant and there's no discomfort but it's just annoying to have in your mouth while you slobber for half an hour! My housemates had a good laugh mind you.
Now what about that result? Well after I used a strip, I steered clear of strong or dark coloured foods and drinks because that's what you normally do, right? Anyway, Day 5 must have been like the peak whitening I could get because from then on I seen zero change. I even had second and third opinions to be sure. Nada.
Yeah, my teeth did lighten a couple shades but I suppose because it's peroxide-free it can only do so much! I felt like I had similar results to a whitening toothpaste. I liked these products but I don't think I'd purchase them again. They would be great to keep in your cupoard for a little lift once in a while but I don't feel I had enough lift to have to endure that hassle for 14 days every time I needed a brightening.
You can purchase these strips from Doll White for £19.99. If you were looking for something cheap, safe and convenient then definitely give them a go. You don't need to consult a dentist to use them too which is handy! Mixed feelings on this product because it definitely worked but I didn't like how they felt in my mouth as they would slip or the gel would leak. What do you think of my results? I'm soooooo self-concious of my smile so I was pretty nervey to put up the pictures! Have you tried any similar whitening products?
