Ultimate "No Makeup" Look and Skincare Routine

The whole "No Makeup" makeup look has been around for some time now. But many of the turorials out there involve elaborate bases, brows groomed within an inch of their lives and sometimes even falsies . With nothing natural about the "No Makeup" look anymore, I'd like to show you how to tone it back and create a flawless, youthful face naturally.

The Skincare; where it all begins

Without getting your skincare routine down then naturally flawless skin will seem impossible! Getting into a good habit and routine is all you need to go makeup-less.  Yes, I said it! Now youbetter believe it.

Routine is key. Here is what I do to my skin (in the A.M.) daily to keep it looking fresh. Read to the end to see my P.M. routine.

1. Cleanse

Many people have differen methods of doing this and theres so many complex, multitasking proucts out there I really just believe in sticking to the basics. I use a gentle cleansing lotion and rub it into my dry skin, followed by my Magnitone Cleansing Brush for a minute then I rinse with a little water.

2. Tone

You either forget this step or your skip the cleanser and jump straight to it just to freshen up  but this step is key after cleaning your skin. A tone not only removes cleanser residue but it also tightens up your pores and reduces oil on the skin. After I lightly pat off excess water I run a toner-soaked cotton pad over my skin.

3. Moisturise

I finish off my skincare with a light, silky moisturiser with SPF in it. I gently massage this in circular motions. This really important, to create a barrier against the elements and to replace an moisture lost in the night. Remember to be gentle with your skin, pulling creates sagging!

The Touch-ups: All the makeup you need

after a few days of good routine, your skin will start to glow naturally! So you'll soon have the confidence to bare all in no time. But of course there is nothing wrong with a few natural enhancements.

1. Cream Blush

upload.jpeg

This is optional because if your excercising regularly then you will probably have a natural flush. Simply dab a little cream blush in a shade as close to your natural flush as possible, I like Max Factor's 09 Soft Murano. tap it on the tops of your cheeks and blend it down, over the apples of your cheeks. Always remember the No.1 Rule in makeup: Creams before  Powders.

2.  Base

Skip the foundations, BB creams and cream contouring; we're going with just a powder. In these warmer months even dry skin is prown to shine. Simply dusting a little translucent or tinted powder over your T-zone and under and over your eyes will soak up any oils and keep you matified for the rest of the day (touch up as needs be).

3. Lashes

Keep it simple. Liners and shadows can be kept for making an entrance at nighttime so instead, just curl and delicately apply some mascara to your lashes. Fan out the edges or press into the base to create a "cat eye" or "smudged liner" effect. But keep it light and pretty.

6. Brows

This is entirely optional, if you've got beautiful full brows feel free to skip. However you may opt for a brow gel (be it clear or tinted) to keep yours in place. Gels look more natural as well as added staying power. I'm currently loving the L'oreal Brow Artist Plumper for full but natural brows.

5. Lips

Finish off your look with a soft glaze of tinted balm, gloss or lipstick. I love to use the Baby Lips   Cherry Me,  the Carmax squeezy cherry tube and Loreal Colour Riche Lipstick in Juienne's Nude.

The Skincare: Time to wrap it up

Of course there's days when you are just too tire, a quick whiparound with a baby wipe and calling it a day will have to do. But as long as this is once in a blue moon because it's at night when your skin does all the hard work. a good nighttime routine is what it's all about!

1. Eye Makeup Remover

Give your eyes a gentle wipe over with some Eye Makeup Remover. If you want to keep it real handy, opt for a Micellar water. That stuff could disolve even the draggiest of queen's makeup!

2. Repeat

Repeat your morning cleanse and tone. leave yourself with beautiful, clear skin ready for your next dose of skin luuurv.

3. Serum

upload.jpeg

Say hello to one of your new friends! Serums come in all shapes and sizes and prices. I love the Boots Botanics serums and Im actually using the Radience Boost with anti-aging properties. I pat this into my skin and let my skin drink it up before continuing.

4. Facial Oil

upload.jpeg

Meet Best Friend #2! I skip the night time moisturiser and go straight for a really yummy face oil to seal the deal and lock in all my hard work. People find oils a little scary because they think it will make their skin more oilier but when I wake up the next morning I have soft, supple skin with the oil all soaked up! I prefer only 100% natural, esential oils sush as this one from Boots.

5. Sleep

Now 7-10 hours kip to give your skin a rest and let it repair and regenerate itself. You will find you will make up more beautiful that you went to bed!
