30 day fitness challenge: yoga with Adriene Update Final result

At the end of February I shared with you the #30DaysOfYoga with Adriene on YouTube. You can see the original post here where I'll tell you aaaaaall about it, but for today's post I'm going to share my results of taking part! 


I will admit, I didn't quite manage to do each day one after another and on some days I did a session in the morning and one in the evening if I felt I needed a little extra. Also, I haven't finished the 30 days. Okay, well what I mean is I didn't want to just stop at day 30... So I'm just going to do #EverdayOfYoga instead of limiting myself 30 days/sessions. So my results will be endless. Yay! 

Physically, I feel great! In fact I hate it when I miss a day or two because I feel like I shrink or tighten a little when I don't do it regularly. Tense too. And negative. I can almost touch my heels to the floor in Downward Facing Dog too! I also underestimated my own flexibility because in some of the moves Adriene will do a beginner, medium and advanced way to do the move and with a lot of them I found I could challengingly but still comfortably go for a medium move! High Five! I also feel longer and leaner, if that make's sense? I like that kind of result compared to a weight-loss per se.  

Besides the obvious physical movements, I took something  mentally from the practice too. I learned little lessons like breathing correctly and using my calming breaths to breathe through a particularly strenuous move (much like the ones in life itself, too). I also felt kind of renewed after each session too, sort of like, my to-do list and problems didn't seem so big and a lot more manageable! I always think that if you benefit positively with a mental result, it will make any physical result ten times better because you're in a better head space.


I'm really pleased I gave this challenge a go. My body (and self-belief) honestly feel a little newer and nicer. Who can argue with feeling great?! Now go and get your yoga mat/door mat/dog's bed/towel and check out Adriene's First Video and come back and tell me how fabulous you feel!
