Autumn Evening Pamper Routine || #Blogtober

Dodging puddles in your suade boots, pulling your wind-swept hair from your burgandy lipstick, sipping at your already cold pumpkin latte...Autumn can be real hard on us sometimes! So who can blame you if you spent dreaming of a hot bath the whole bus ride home?!

I'm going to share with you my Autumn Evening Paper Routine and I've even included 2 of my seriously chill recipes for my favourite pamper treats. 

MY AUTUMN EVENING PAMPER ROUTINE:

 

🍁 set the mood

I get in the door, yank my boots off and it begins. I like to make my room all cozy; draw the curtains, straighten out my bed, put on my favourite music, lay out my jimmy-jams and light a few candles. HEY! No shame for the christmas Candle, okay?

🍁 run a bath

Next, I get my bath in order. Want my secret to a really good bath? While the tap is running (I run it a little hotter so it cools while I'm getting ready), pour 1 cup/250ml milk under the running water.

🍁 make a bath "tea bag" 

This is so simple but so nice! Take a piece of muslin cloth of some fine mess and add to it: 

  • 3 Tbsp rolled oats
  • dried lavender (I used 3 dried stemps with flowers, crumbled into the oats) 

Tie or sew your bag up and pop it into the water away from the tap. Leave to brew! This will soften and sooth your skin and leave you totally relaxed.

🍁 do a face mask

Nothing says pamper night quite like a face mask! Why not make one up at home using what's in your cuboards? This chocolate mask is so good! It's great for dry skin, prone to breakouts. 

CHOCOLATE FACE MASK:

  • 3 Tbsp crushed rolled oats/oat powder (you can crumble them up with your hands) 
  • 3 Tbsp cocoa powder (not hot chocolate powder FYI) 
  • 2 Tbsp honey
  • 2 Tbsp full cream
  • milk, to thin out

Combine your ingredients in a bowl or resealable container. It will be quite thick but thin it out with some milk. Apply a layer using a brush or fingers and leave for 20-30 mins while you soak in the tub. rinse with warm water.

 🍁 chill in the bath

Let the bath (and mask) work it's magic for half an hour while you read a book, some blogs or catch up on Youtube. Super stressed? Try not try meditating!

 🍁 bed down for the evening

Once I'm out of the tub and into my PJ's and fluffy socks, I get some popcorn made or even bake some cookies and catch up on some tv series or a movie or even just my book. I don't even look near my social media!
