Marsala: How to wear the colour of 2015
Pantone has named the colour of 2015 to be Marsala. This deep, rich red was already splattered across this year's Golden Globe red carpet. This is one of those colours that can be so right or so wrong. I'm going to show you some of my favourite ways to wear this timeless colour.
I whipped up this little demo for you on Polyvore to show you some of my favourite ways to wear this classic colour. I have seen this colour be described as "modern day burgundy" or "the dried in blood of our catwalks" so in away it's got a lot to live up to.
I would wear this colour as either an accessory or as a statement. You could tastefully pair your Marsala-matching lip, nails and shoe with a classic and timeless all-black outfit. I particularly like these court shoes from Topshop.
You could also go for a bold, statement outfit with nude tones. I would pick some retro Marsala culottes with a nude blouse and a statement Masala coloured necklace and shoe. Keeping your face natural with a hint of blush (like this one from Nars), nude lip and groomed brows.
It is also a very versatile colour to decorate your home. As a statement colour in a soft cream palatte, This colour could work in any room.
How do you plan to wear Marsala this year?
